l think the fuse for the brake lights burned out and l need to know where they are and wich one it is. also, its stuck on park and it wont let me shift into drive. Is that because of the brake lights that are out or is it something else? its a toyota corola 1993.

the fuse should be in the fuse block under the drivers side dash.i dont think the brake lights have anything to do with the shifter but could be

l think that fuse is in the engine compartment box. Look for a black plastic box w/ wires to it. You spring a little catch & the box cover will lift off. turn over the box cover & l think it will have the fuses identified.
Yes - w/no brake light power u will not be able to shift out of Park - because of the interlock. The shifter has to see that the foot brake is on before it will release the shift lever.
you also might need to check ur brake switch on the pedal if the fuse is not the problem. u could have a bad bulb shorting the fuse - so if u replace the fuse & it blows again - check all the brake bulbs including the one in the hi mount.
