im looking to buy a older 4runner but l really like the roll down back window you get when it has the tailgate style rearend, so l was wondering if any years after 95 have a window that can open in the lift hatch style

umm no the only ones thaat open with window r the 04+
the rest go into the bottom part of the tail
u need to refrace ur Q then ill help u a lil better

the 97 still do the same thing.the window rolls down into the back.the only thing is that it does not have the tail gate style rearend.now the whole back door opens up like a station wagon.

The 4runner rear windows do roll down all the way to current year. Only difference is a hatch instead of swing out door.
